Former Al Hilal star Nasser Al Shamrani has praised Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, saying he has saved the club from conceding many goals this season.

Despite sitting 2nd on the league log with 58 points after 27 matches played, Al Shamrani said in a television interview praised the former Sevilla shot stopper.
“Bono has only kept a clean sheet in seven matches this season, which is not a good number compared to what he achieved last season.”
“But if Bounou had not been Al Hilal’s goalkeeper, the team would have conceded more goals, because the leader’s defense has been very weak this season and is making many mistakes.
“What distinguishes the Moroccan goalkeeper is his coolness, through which he was able to positively influence the players. He always spoke calmly to the defense after defensive errors that led to the team conceding goals.
“We cannot blame the director of football, Fahad Al-Mufrej, for what is happening to the team. Al-Mufrej has been working for Al-Hilal for 12 years and has played a prominent role in the team achieving many local and international titles,” he added.
