Yassine Benzia, the Algerian international midfielder, has emphatically dismissed any possibility of returning to play in France, despite garnering interest from several European clubs following his impressive performances with Qarabag in Azerbaijan.

Benzia’s stellar displays for Qarabag, which recently clinched the Azerbaijani championship, have placed him in the spotlight as the summer transfer window approaches.

With notable contributions both domestically and in European competitions, the midfielder has become a sought-after talent in the football market.

In a recent interview with Azerbaijani media outlet Matc, Benzia addressed speculation about his future, firmly rejecting the idea of a return to France, particularly to Ligue 2:

“After the performances I’ve delivered this season with Qarabag, both in domestic and European competitions, playing in France, especially in Ligue 2, is not something I envision

. While I’ve received concrete offers from two French second division clubs recently, I have unequivocally turned them down. I am not interested in playing at that level anymore.”

Currently contracted to Qarabag until 2025, Benzia’s market value stands at 1 million euros, with an annual salary of 78,416 euros (approximately 50,970,400 FCFA) in Azerbaijan.

Throughout the season, the Saint-Aubin-les-Elbeuf native has been in scintillating form, notching up an impressive tally of 15 goals and 12 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions.

Benzia’s resolute stance reflects his ambition to continue his career at a competitive level, aiming to build on his successes with Qarabag and explore opportunities that align with his aspirations in European football.

As speculation swirls around his future, clubs across the continent will be closely monitoring the midfielder’s next move in the upcoming transfer window.
