Yannick Nwatsock leaves Gibraltar for Spanish club Mazarron FC

Cameroon midfielder Yannick Nwatsock has joined Mazarron FC from Lynx FC on a free transfer, switching clubs on 3 September 2026.

The 27-year-old central midfielder has signed a contract with Mazarron FC until 30 June 2027. Nwatsock becomes the latest step in a career that has largely involved moves between clubs in Spain and Gibraltar without a transfer fee.

Nwatsock began the 2026-27 season with Lynx FC and made one appearance in the Gibraltar Football League before completing his move. He played 90 minutes in that appearance and received one yellow card.

His time at Lynx followed a spell with Inter Sevilla, whom he joined on 1 January 2026. Before that, he played for UD Rinconada, La Palma CF, SP Villafranca, CD Badajoz B, Jerez Ind., At. Porcuna, AD Villaviciosa, Torreblanca CF and CMD San Juan.

The move to Mazarron represents another club change for a midfielder whose senior career has been built through successive free transfers. Nwatsock moved from Inter Sevilla to Lynx in January 2026, also without a fee, after joining Inter Sevilla from UD Rinconada at the start of the 2025-26 season.

Nwatsock was born on 2 September 1999 and is listed as a Cameroon international by nationality. He stands at 1.88m and operates primarily in central midfield.

Mazarron FC have agreed the deal during the opening weeks of the 2026-27 season, with the player’s new contract running for the remainder of the campaign and the whole of the 2027-28 season. The agreement keeps Nwatsock at the club through to the end of June 2027.

The transfer also marks a return to Spain for Nwatsock after his brief spell with Lynx FC. His previous Spanish clubs included Inter Sevilla, UD Rinconada, La Palma CF, SP Villafranca and CD Badajoz B, as well as several lower-league sides earlier in his career.

Nwatsock has now completed his free transfer from Lynx FC and joined Mazarron FC on a contract lasting until 30 June 2027.
