Manchester United are gearing up for a busy summer, with plans not only to reinforce midfield but also to finally secure a specialist left winger, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano

Michael Carrick has confirmed that the position remains a priority, continuing the work started under former boss Ruben Amorim, who had pushed hard for a wide attacker before missing out on Ghanaian winger Antoine Semenyo, now at Manchester City.

Among the names on United’s radar, RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande has moved to the forefront, highlighted as a major target by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Club scouts reportedly watched the winger closely as early as January, and his performances since then have only strengthened interest.

Diomande is expected to command a fee in the region of £80m this summer, underlining how highly he is rated in the market. Talks over United’s next permanent manager are still ongoing, but movement on a new left winger is anticipated once there is clarity on the dugout.

This season, Diomande has delivered 10 goals and 6 assists in 26 appearances across all competitions, showcasing the end product United are seeking on the flank.
