Yahya Atiyatullah, recently transferred to the Russian football club Sochi from Wydad Casablanca, has conveyed messages of thanks and appreciation to the components of his former team.
Having spent years with Wydad, he credited the club for numerous national and continental titles, along with his inclusion in the Moroccan national team.
Taking to his social media accounts, Atiyatullah stated, “The goal was one: to achieve victory with Wydad Casablanca, which embraced me and gave me its trust.
I, in turn, spared no effort in contributing what I could.
I gave my all in pursuit of success, and I will not be ungrateful. The achievements I have attained were thanks to Wydad, such as the national championship, the CAF Champions League, and the call-up to the national team for the World Cup, reaching the semi-finals.”
The Moroccan defender emphasized the significant role played by the Wydad family in his journey thus far, adding, “All credit goes to the support within the ranks of the family, from the fans to the players, coaches, and technical staff.
Therefore, I extend my heartfelt thanks to all team members, including medical and technical staff, and everyone involved, whether near or far.
I also extend profound gratitude to the fans, who have always been supportive, encouraging, and motivating.”
Atiyatullah joined his new team’s training today, with Sochi currently occupying the last position in the Russian Premier League standings.
Sitting at 16th out of 16 teams, Sochi has accumulated 11 points from 18 matches, trailing behind the safety zone by 8 points.
The move to Sochi marks a new chapter in Atiyatullah’s career, and as he integrates into his new environment, he remains appreciative of the opportunities and experiences gained during his time with Wydad Casablanca.
