Yacine Brahimi in Manchester United’s Sights: €50M Move on the Table?
Algerian international Yacine Brahimi may be nearing the end of his time at FC Porto. According to reports from the Portuguese press, Manchester United have entered the race to sign the highly-rated midfielder and are reportedly prepared to meet the €50 million release clause set by the Portuguese giants.
Brahimi, who joined Porto from Granada last summer, has quickly become one of the club’s most influential players, alongside Colombian striker Jackson Martinez. His performances, both in Liga Portugal and in European competition, have made him a hot commodity on the transfer market.
Besides Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, and SSC Napoli are also said to be tracking the 25-year-old. However, the Red Devils appear to be leading the chase with the most concrete offer.
If completed, a move to Old Trafford would mark a massive leap for Brahimi, who has been one of Africa’s standout players in recent years. A decision could come soon as Porto may be tempted to cash in if United activates the release clause.
