Wydad Athletic Club forward Mohamed Rayhi has penned an emotional tribute to outgoing head coach Rulani Mokwena, expressing deep gratitude for the impact the South African has had on his career.
The Moroccan club confirmed on Tuesday that Mokwena has been granted special leave with three league fixtures remaining in the season.
The 38-year-old tactician is set to officially part ways with the club at the end of the campaign following a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
Rayhi, who joined Wydad shortly after Mokwena’s arrival last year, has been a standout performer this season.
He currently leads the league’s scoring charts with 10 goals and has tallied 12 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions.
In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, the 30-year-old attacker credited Mokwena for both his personal and professional growth.
“I can’t thank you enough for what you did for me, how you treat me, how you make me a better person and a better player,” Rayhi wrote in his IG account.
“You are an amazing human being and a amazing coach. You make a lot of things better in Wydad what the people outside don’t know.
“Thank you for everything, and I wish you all the best in the future,” added the speedy forward.
“I also want to thank the staff for their amazing effort, you deserve the best.”
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Mokwena is set to receive a $1 million payout upon his official departure from the club.
