The Wydad Athletic Club, under its new management, has initiated a process to accommodate new and former members to settle their status, all in preparation for holding four overdue general assemblies from the previous era under the leadership of Said Naciri.
The aim of this measure, advocated by Abdelmajid Beranaki, the current president of Wydad, is to align the club’s position as one of Morocco’s largest and most successful football clubs with its legal status.
This move is intended to enable the club to benefit from substantial financial revenues amounting to approximately $3.2 million, representing television broadcasting rights that were seized by the Moroccan Football Federation.
The seizure came as an administrative measure against clubs that fail to hold their general assemblies on time.
Each club in the Moroccan Premier League receives $800,000 annually, representing their entitlements for the broadcast of their league matches.
This action is expected to assist Wydad in resolving its administrative matters by electing a new president and board of directors and revitalizing its economic situation.
