“Wydad’s Winners,” the supporting faction of Wydad Athletic Club, has vehemently criticized “the refereeing errors endured by the club during the match against Fath Union Sport” in the 16th round of the Professional Football League played last Wednesday.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, “Wydad’s Winners” slammed the decisions made by referee Nabil Benreqia in the Fath Union game, citing “errors” committed, including “failure to award a penalty in favor of Wydad and failure to resort to video technology in this instance.
Additionally, there was the allowance of a goal for the home team despite the foul committed against Wydad’s defender, as well as the failure to execute a free kick from its rightful position, leading to the opponent’s winning goal.”
The “Wydad faction” expressed its dismay at “the settling of scores practiced by the refereeing directorate against the team, and the provocative decisions made in every match, whether by field referees or VAR.”
The same source argued that “these impactful errors directly contributed to granting undeserved points to Fath Union,” emphasizing that they “repeatedly occur, implying that the club is targeted by the refereeing directorate.”
It’s worth noting that Wydad Athletic Club currently occupies the fourth position in the Professional Football League, with 25 points, trailing the leaders Royal Army and Raja Club Athletic by 11 points.
