Speculations surrounding a shift in Wydad Casablanca’s stance on the situation of coach Aziz Ben Askar have been refuted by exclusive sources within the club.
Ben Askar took over as the head coach of Wydad Casablanca following the departure of Tunisian coach Faouzi Benzarti due to the team’s poor performance.
In the upcoming season, Aziz Ben Askar is set to transition into the role of sports director for Wydad, opening the door for another coach to lead the team in the Club World Cup.
Sources close to the club told Koora: “Wydad Casablanca has not changed its position regarding the fate of Ben Askar.”
They further stated, “Reports suggesting Ben Askar will remain as the coach of Wydad for the next season are unfounded.”
“The upcoming summer will be decisive in shaping Wydad’s future, with the election of a new president and the appointment of a new coach,” they added.
In a separate development, it has been confirmed that player Yahya Jabrane will be absent from the remaining matches of Wydad due to an ankle injury.
