Wydad Casablanca head coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem is pushing to keep Brazilian midfielder Guilherme Ferreira at the club ahead of the upcoming season.
Ferreira, who joined Wydad on loan and featured for the team during the FIFA Club World Cup, is set to return to his parent club following the end of his loan spell.
However, Benhachem has made it clear he wants the midfielder to remain in Casablanca.
In a recent meeting with club president Hicham Ait Mena, the Wydad boss urged the club to activate Ferreira’s purchase option, highlighting the player’s importance to his tactical plans.
Benhachem praised Ferreira’s partnership with Dutch midfielder Jurgen Meijer, who recently signed a permanent deal with Wydad.
The pair formed a strong midfield duo, and the coach is eager to maintain that core going into the new campaign.
With both Ferreira and Meijer identified as key components of his midfield setup, Benhachem believes securing the Brazilian’s services permanently will strengthen the team’s prospects for the season ahead.
