Wydad Casablanca has secured the signing of Moroccan midfielder Walid Sebbar from Renaissance Zemamra, marking the club’s third acquisition ahead of the upcoming football season.
The move was heavily influenced by head coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem, who shares a close working relationship with Sebbar, having overseen his training last season.
Benhachem strongly advocated for the signing, confident in Sebbar’s technical skills and his potential to strengthen the squad.
Sebbar’s arrival follows earlier additions to the team, including Hamza Al-Wasiti from Ittihad Tangier and Abdel Ghafour Lamirat from Olympique d’Asfi.
These signings form part of the technical staff’s broader strategy to revitalize the squad and re-establish Wydad as a dominant force both domestically and in continental competitions.
In line with this vision, Benhachem has also trimmed the list of players leaving the club from 21 to 16, emphasizing close oversight of new recruits as he aims to restore Wydad’s legacy and mount a serious challenge in the CAF Confederation Cup.
