Wydad Casablanca has officially announced the signing of former Moroccan international Nordin Amrabat on a one-year deal.
AfricaSoccer.com on Friday revealed that the experienced midfielder, who previously played for Hull City, is set to join the Moroccan giants ahead of the 2025 Club World Cup.
Amrabat brings a wealth of experience from his career across top leagues in Spain, Greece, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, and England.
His addition is part of Wydad’s broader plan to reinforce their squad for the upcoming expanded tournament.
In other transfer news, Wydad is close to finalising deals for striker Stephane Aziz Ky from Tanzania’s Young Africans and midfielder Hamza El Hanouri from FUS Rabat.
The club is also actively negotiating with several Moroccan players based in Europe to further bolster their roster as they prepare to face tough competition in Group G of the Club World Cup, including Manchester City, Juventus, and Al Ain from the UAE.
To gear up for the tournament starting next June, Wydad will embark on a rigorous training camp in the United States, which will feature two friendly matches against Porto and Sevilla.
This will give the coaching staff an opportunity to evaluate the team’s readiness for the challenge ahead.
