Wydad Casablanca mutually part ways with defender Abdelmonem Boutouil

Wydad Casablanca has reached an amicable settlement with defender Abdelmonem Boutouil, bringing his stint at the club to an early close.

Boutouil agreed to waive a portion of his dues, facilitating the termination of his contract.

The Moroccan joined Wydad last summer from South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns on a two-year deal reportedly worth $800,000.

The 26-year-old struggled to meet expectations, particularly during the recent Club World Cup in the United States, prompting coach Amine Benhachem to include him on the departure list.

Boutouil’s exit allows Wydad to sidestep potential disputes with sports authorities, ensuring a smooth resolution for both parties.
