Wydad Casablanca will decide the fate of their head coach Amin Benhachem after the high-stake derby against Raja Casablanca.

Benhachem has come under intense pressure following Wydad Casablanca’s poor run of results in the Moroccan Premier League this season.

Wydad commenced the 2025/26 league season with a 1-0 win over Kawkab Marrakech, before drawing 1-1 with Ittihad Yacoub El Mansour.

Currently, Wydad find themselves in the sixth position on the league standings, accumulating four points after two matches.

Earlier reports suggested Wydad Casablanca are considering parting ways with their head coach, having failed to impress the club leadership.

But Africasoccer.com understands the Moroccan giants has no intention of dismissing Benhachem at the moment, despite the criticism he has received following the team’s poor performance.

The club will wait until after the fifth round to assess the team’s performance and decide Benhachem’s fate, a round that coincides with the derby against Raja.

Benhachem had agreed with the club’s leadership to evaluate Wydad’s results every five rounds, in the presence of club technicians.

Wydad Casablanca aspires to quickly return to winning titles, after exiting empty-handed in the last three season.
