Wydad welcome back internationals ahead of Club Meknes clash
Wydad Athletic Club will welcome back several of their international players as they continue preparations for Sunday’s Botola clash with Club Meknes.
The returning players are expected to join training on Monday, 5 October, after being away with their respective national teams.
Benin international Oulgabadi and Jordan midfielder Nizar Al-Rashdan are among those set to return to Paulo Sergio’s squad after completing their international commitments.
Sergio boosted by return of internationals
The availability of Oulgabadi and Al-Rashdan provides Wydad coach Paulo Sergio with additional options ahead of the third round of the Moroccan professional league.
Both players missed Wydad’s opening two league matches against Wydad Temara and Difaâ El Jadida because of their international commitments.
Their return comes at an important stage of Wydad’s campaign as the Casablanca club looks to build momentum after an inconsistent start.
Wydad looking to build on El Jadida win
Wydad have collected three points from their opening two matches.
They began the campaign with a disappointing 3-1 defeat by Wydad Temara before responding with a 2-0 away victory against Difaâ El Jadida.
The win in El Jadida gave Sergio’s side their first three points of the season and they will now look to maintain that momentum against Club Meknes.
Club Meknes visit Mohammed V
Wydad will host Club Meknes at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca on Sunday.
Kick-off is scheduled for 20:00 local time as Wydad aim to claim another victory and improve their position in the Botola standings.
