Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) has officially announced the signing of Morocco international Walid Sabbar on a two-year contract, marking a significant addition to their squad ahead of the 2025–26 season.
Sabbar joins the Casablanca-based side from RCA Zemamra, where he was under contract until 2026.
The deal was finalized after prolonged negotiations, with club president Hicham Ait Mena confirming the acquisition.
Last season, Sabbar made 21 appearances in the Botola Pro, contributing three goals and three assists over 1,845 minutes of play.
This transfer forms part of Wydad’s broader summer rebuilding strategy, which has seen several key signings aimed at strengthening the team.
Notable arrivals include Brazilian defender Guilherme Ferreira, Dutch centre-back Bart Meijers, and a host of other talents such as Hamza Hannouri, Nordin Amrabat, Stéphane Aziz Ki, Hamza El Ouasti, Abdelghafour Lamirat, and Joseph Bakasu.
The squad will also welcome back captain Yahya Jabrane, who has reached a new agreement with the club’s management, further boosting Wydad’s preparations for the upcoming campaign.
