WORLD ELIM 2014: SATURDAY’S RESULTS

Five teams—Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Nigeria, and Cape Verde—have secured their places in the play-offs for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. Cape Verde caused a major upset by defeating Tunisia 2-0, leading to the resignation of Tunisia’s coach, Nabil Maaloul. Senegal struggled but managed to secure a 1-0 victory against Uganda, with Sadio Mané scoring the decisive goal. Burkina Faso won 1-0 against Gabon, and Ethiopia and Ghana had already qualified the previous day. The last team to join the play-offs will be determined after the match between Cameroon and Libya on Sunday.
