Another step forward for the Black Stars in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. Ghana secured a 2-0 victory against Lesotho on the road, putting them back at the top of their qualifying group.
Christian Atsu and Asamoah Gyan, the team’s leading scorer (35 goals), netted the two goals in the match.
With this result, Ghana now has 12 points, leading Zambia by one point. Lesotho and Sudan are already eliminated from contention. The final match of this group will take place in September, with the Black Stars facing the Chipolopolo in Accra.
Zambia might rue missed opportunities, especially after dropping points on Saturday in their match against Sudan at home, ending in a 1-1 draw.
