It seems that the Togolese national football team, the Sparrowhawks, is facing organizational challenges ahead of their match against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. Despite arriving in the Cameroonian capital on Tuesday, the team is encountering difficulties, particularly in finding a suitable stadium for their training sessions.
According to reports, the Togolese Football Federation (FTF) is actively searching for a stadium to accommodate the team’s training needs. The Footafrica365 site reveals that the FTF is struggling with the organization, and this seems to be a specific issue related to Togo.
The communications manager at Fecafoot, Junior Binyam, emphasized that for World Cup qualifiers, each participating country is responsible for its own arrangements, even when playing away. He pointed out that Togo, by choosing to arrive early before the match, is expected to organize itself to meet its needs. However, Binyam noted that there is an obligation to open the doors of the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium to the Togo national team the day before the match for them to inspect the venue.
The situation highlights the challenges that national teams sometimes face in terms of logistics and organization during away matches in international competitions.
