Despite initial concerns about the progress of construction at the Curitiba stadium, FIFA has decided not to exclude it from hosting matches in the upcoming World Cup. After an evaluation visit by FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke, it was determined that the construction of the Arena da Baixada had advanced sufficiently and the stadium could be ready in time for the competition.
