Following an extensive interview with the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, this morning, it has been revealed that, on “high instructions from President Paul Biya,” the captain of the Indomitable Lions, Samuel Eto’o, has been assigned a crucial mission. He is tasked with accompanying the national team until the conclusion of the upcoming World Cup in Brazil in 2014.
Reportedly, President Biya has urged the all-time leading goal-scorer for Cameroon to set aside any grievances and concerns, emphasizing the importance of his role in supporting the national team’s journey to Brazil.
Responding to the call from the nation’s leader, Samuel Eto’o, a proud Cameroonian, has accepted the mission. He is expected to join the team in training in Lisses from tonight, providing valuable reinforcement for the upcoming match against the Eagles of Carthage in Radès next Sunday.
The announcement comes after Eto’o declared his retirement from the national team the day after the Indomitable Lions secured qualification at the expense of Libya in Group I, a decision that had stirred reactions among various figures in the Cameroonian sports community.
