Wolverhampton Wanderers chairman Jeff Shi is counting on Zimbabwe star Marshall Munetsi as the club aim to escape relegation at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old joined the Premier League outfit on a permanent deal from Stade Reims, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal with an option for an extra year on transfer deadline day.
The Premier League outfit reportedly snapped up the Zimbabwean midfielder for €20 million.
“Our staff travelled to France to ensure this deal was done on deadline day, as it was important for the club, and we’re pleased to bring an experienced player into the group at an important time of the season.
“We’re excited to have Marshall on board, and I hope he can help us achieve our aims. He’ll have the full support of all of us at Compton Park and I hope he will have a long and successful time as part of the Wolves family.”
Known for his flexibility and powerful presence, Munetsi played in 159 games for Reims, contributing 14 assists and scoring 21 goals.
Wolves are currently 17th on the Premier League standings, and Munetsi’s addition provides much-needed depth and skill to the team.
Fans are keen to watch how he adjusts to English football and assists his new club in their survival efforts.
