Egypt’s Premier League clubs in the relegation zone are intensifying their efforts to strengthen their squads during the winter transfer window as they prepare for the second phase of the season, aiming to secure their positions and avoid relegation to the second division.
All ten clubs involved in the relegation battle have bolstered their squads with new signings, with the exception of Misr El-Makkasa due to FIFA-imposed registration restrictions.
Here’s a breakdown of the transfer activities of the relegation-threatened clubs in the Egyptian Premier League:
1. Makadi SC: Makadi has been the most active club in the transfer market, securing the services of 17 players.
Among the notable signings are Youssef Bebo and Mostafa Disha from Ghazl El-Mahalla, Fares Ezzat from Al Ittihad Alexandria, Mahmoud Akmal from Kafr El-Sheikh, Hisham Sabry from Petrojet, and a trio from Kafr El-Sheikh consisting of Mohamed Reda, Mahmoud Basla, and Ahmed Talaat.
2. Petrojet SC: Petrojet recruited Ahmed Kashry and Mohamed Qandeel from Fayoum, Mohamed Abdelrasoul from Tanta, Nigerian Michaelin Paiko from Telecom Egypt, and Mohamed Hamdan from Ghazl El-Mahalla.
3. 8. Dekernes SC: Dekernes secured the services of nine new players, including Amir Hegazy, Abdelrahman Bougi from Olympic, Hassan Tarek from Balqas City, Magdy Sabry from Ghazl El-Mahalla, Ahmed Youssef and Awda Mohamed from Customs, Mahmoud Aql from Railway SC, and the Republic of Shubin duo of Abu Al Majd Bouja and Hassan Bishandi.
