Winter transfer window: Egyptian premier league clubs reinforce squads
Egypt’s Premier League clubs in the relegation zone are intensifying their efforts to strengthen their squads during the winter transfer window as they prepare for the second phase of the season, aiming to secure their positions and avoid relegation to the second division.
All ten clubs involved in the relegation battle have bolstered their squads with new signings, with the exception of Misr El-Makkasa due to FIFA-imposed registration restrictions.
Here’s a breakdown of the transfer activities of the relegation-threatened clubs in the Egyptian Premier League:
1. Makadi SC: Makadi has been the most active club in the transfer market, securing the services of 17 players.
Among the notable signings are Youssef Bebo and Mostafa Disha from Ghazl El-Mahalla, Fares Ezzat from Al Ittihad Alexandria, Mahmoud Akmal from Kafr El-Sheikh, Hisham Sabry from Petrojet, and a trio from Kafr El-Sheikh consisting of Mohamed Reda, Mahmoud Basla, and Ahmed Talaat.
2. Petrojet SC: Petrojet recruited Ahmed Kashry and Mohamed Qandeel from Fayoum, Mohamed Abdelrasoul from Tanta, Nigerian Michaelin Paiko from Telecom Egypt, and Mohamed Hamdan from Ghazl El-Mahalla.
3. Telecom Egypt: Telecom Egypt secured the loan signing of Ghanaian Samuel Obeng from Al Ahly ‘2006’, along with Juma Matoole from Baladeyet El Mahalla, Mahmoud Masoud from Mansoura, Youssef Ataya from Misr El-Makkasa, Ahmed El-Saqa from Assiut Cement, Mahmoud Tyson from ENPPI, and Abdelrahman Abdelnabi from Aswan.
4. Abu Qair Fertilizers SC: Abu Qair Fertilizers brought in six players, including Sherif Ashraf, Mohamed El-Saeed from Rayyan, John Mapachu from El Minya, Ahmed Abu Ajila from Arab Contractors, Moamen Atef from Makadi, and Mostafa Amin from Tersana.
5. Aswan SC: Aswan signed Nigerian Ike Julius from Rangers, Suleiman Khalid from Future, Mohamed Ismail from Fayoum, Abdullah Kamel from Wadi Degla, Mohamed El-Fayoumi from Dakahlia, Mohamed Darwish from Luxor, and Mahmoud El-Sayed from Makadi.
6. Republic of Shubin SC: Republic of Shubin announced the acquisition of twelve players, including Abdelmoneim Mostor and Ahmed Qassem from Abu Qair Fertilizers, Mahmoud Gabr from Tersana, Ahmed El-Shamy from Baladeyet El Mahalla, Mostafa Shalaby from Smouha, Ahmed Abdel-Aal from Finance Kafr El-Zayat, Mohamed Hosny from Wadi Degla, Hisham Salah from Railway SC, Osama Sabri from ENPPI, Mohamed Nagy from Halal Matrouh, and Mohamed Raouf and Omar Oka from Makadi.
7. Al-Nasr Mining SC: Al-Nasr Mining completed deals for Adham Hamdan from Enppi, Amin Mohamed from Al-Mostakbal, Ahmed Fadel from Borj Al Arab, Abdelrahman Qassem from Alwe Egypt, Ahmed Rizk from Railway SC, Mohamed Adel from Borj Al Arab, and Mohsen Shaaban from Abu Al Matamir.
8. Dekernes SC: Dekernes secured the services of nine new players, including Amir Hegazy, Abdelrahman Bougi from Olympic, Hassan Tarek from Balqas City, Magdy Sabry from Ghazl El-Mahalla, Ahmed Youssef and Awda Mohamed from Customs, Mahmoud Aql from Railway SC, and the Republic of Shubin duo of Abu Al Majd Bouja and Hassan Bishandi.
The signings reflect the determination of the relegation-threatened clubs to strengthen their squads and improve their chances of survival in the fiercely competitive Egyptian Premier League.
