Zamalek Club’s management has successfully bolstered the first-team ranks with the addition of ten players during the winter transfer window.
The official announcement of these acquisitions is anticipated during a press conference scheduled by the White Castle’s board on the upcoming Monday.
Zamalek’s recent signings include Abdullah El-Said and Saif Jafar from Pyramids, Nasser Maher from Future, Mohamed Shahata from Talaea El-Gaish, Mohamed Atef from Tanta, and Ziyad Kamal, a midfielder from Enppi.
Furthermore, the club secured Ahmed Hamdi from Canadian side Montreal, and Muhab Yasser from El Dakhleya.
Additionally, the Palestinian defender Yasser Hamad and Ugandan professional Travis have joined the squad.
This influx of new talent coincides with the arrival of Portuguese coach Jose Gomez, who is set to lead the first football team in the near future.
The new signings provide strategic flexibility for the Portuguese coach, given that several of the incoming players have the ability to play in multiple positions.
Goalkeeper Position:
It is expected that Mohamed Awad will continue as the primary goalkeeper for Zamalek, particularly with no new goalkeepers added and Mohamed Subhi’s recent absence.
Defensive Line:
Mahmoud Hamdi El Wensh is likely to feature prominently, with equal chances for Mahmoud Alaa and Hossam Abdelmegid following the departure of Mohamed Abdelghani.
New arrival Yasser Hamad needs to present his credentials to secure a primary role.
Right-Back:
With Mohamed Tarek’s departure, the competition is now between Tunisian Hamza El Mathlouthi and Omar Gaber, with the former having higher prospects.
Left-Back:
Ahmed Fattouh is the top candidate for a starting position, maintaining the experience of Mohamed Abdel Shafy as a backup.
Ahmed Zaki is expected to be loaned out, and Abdullah Gomaa’s departure is confirmed.
Defensive Midfield:
Mohamed Shahata is a prominent contender for the defensive midfield role, facing competition from Nabil Emad Donga and Ziyad Kamal, especially with the departure of Amr El Sisi and the impending release of Mohamed Ashraf Roqa.
Playmaker:
The Zamalek squad boasts an abundance of playmakers following the acquisitions of Abdullah El-Said, Ahmed Hamdi, and Nasser Maher.
Right Wing:
Ahmed Sayed “Zizo” is set to occupy the right-wing, backed by the versatile Yusuf Obama, newcomers Muhab Yasser, and Mohamed Atef with Ugandan Professional Travis.
Left Wing:
Coach Gomez has multiple options for the left-wing, including Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala,” Mostafa Shalaby, Ibrahima N’Daye, and Sayed Abdullah “Neymar.”
Striker:
Seif El-Din El-Jaziri stands out as a leading candidate to spearhead Zamalek’s attack, facing competition from Samson and Nasser Mansi.
With these strategic signings, Zamalek is poised for a competitive and dynamic performance in the upcoming matches, under the guidance of Coach Jose Gomez.
The unveiling of the official lineup will undoubtedly capture the attention of football enthusiasts eager to witness the impact of these winter acquisitions.
