‘Winning my first Premier League Player of the Month is unforgettable’ – Antoine Semenyo
Manchester City’s new signing Antoine Semenyo has described winning the Premier League Player of the Month award for February 2026 as a ‘brilliant moment’ in his career.
The Ghanaian international, who joined the club in a £64 million move from AFC Bournemouth during the January transfer window, received the prestigious honour on Friday following a sensational start to life at the Etihad Stadium.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Semenyo expressed his pride in making an immediate impact under Pep Guardiola.
“This is a brilliant moment for me. To win the Premier League Player of the Month award so soon after joining City is something I’ll never forget,” he said.
The 26-year-old forward enjoyed a prolific February, netting three goals and providing one assist in five appearances to help City maintain their title charge.
His clinical performances included vital strikes against Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham, and Leeds United. By claiming the trophy, Semenyo becomes the first City player other than Erling Haaland to win the award in over four years.
He also joins an elite group of Ghanaians to have won the prize, following in the footsteps of legends Tony Yeboah and Andre Ayew.
After beating out competition from the likes of Virgil van Dijk and teammate Nico O’Reilly, Semenyo credited his fast adaptation to the support of his new teammates.
