The “Winners” faction, supporters of Widad Athletic Club, has categorically rejected linking the club’s name to the case of its president, Saïd Naciri.
Naciri is currently under arrest in connection with the “Sahara Escobar” file.
The faction calls on those in Naciri’s position to handle resolutely anyone associating Widad with such legal matters.
In a released statement, the “Winners” urged utilizing the designated break period for the African Cup to organize administrative affairs in preparation for the upcoming phase.
Addressing the players, the message emphasized the necessity of focusing on matters within the green rectangle and avoiding distractions that could scatter concentration.
The statement emphasized solidarity with the players and highlighted that the best retaliation against those dreaming of undermining Widad is achieving triumph at the end of the season.
“Fight for the emblem and its colors, while we, aware of our duties, will not hesitate to fulfill them,” the statement affirmed.
Concurrently, “Winners” issued a strongly-worded address to the head of the National League, AbdelSalam Belkashour, regarding his statements concerning the club’s postponed matches.
The faction commented, “His statements resembled a threat, and it didn’t stop there.
It surpassed this point, leading the league to implement a penalty on Fawzi Benzarti after Olympique Safi’s previous complaint about the same issue was rejected.”
The faction underscored that Widad Athletic Club’s supporters do not seek any privileges or preferential treatment, acknowledging Widad’s continental commitments.
However, they expressed an unwavering refusal to accept any injustice against the team for the service of any party.
Widad Athletic Club currently grapples with challenges, especially after the imprisonment of its president, Saïd Naciri, in the “Aqasha” case.
The Professional National League has also enforced a suspension penalty against coach Fawzi Al-Bazrti. These developments deepen the problems for the “Red” team, which is struggling in the CAF Champions League, occupying the bottom of the table with three points, two rounds before the conclusion of the league stage.
