Arsenal defender William Saliba has been excluded from France’s squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League semi-finals against Spain.
The highly-rated defender, who is of Cameroonian descent did not make the France squad announced by head coach Didier Deschamps on Wednesday due to an injury.
Saliba suffered the injury while in action for Arsenal against Newcastle United last Sunday.
According to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, Saliba will be out of action for a while.
“William is going to be out for a few weeks, unfortunately,” Arteta said.
In his absence, Deschamps has handed a debut call-up to Pierre Kalulu ahead of the UEFA Nations League encounter against Spain.
