Wilfred Ndidi has offered a blunt assessment of Leicester City’s struggles, pointing to the team’s fragile mindset as a key reason for their relegation.
The Nigerian midfielder, who featured 27 times and provided four assists in the Premier League, reflected on the squad’s attitude during tough moments.
In an interview with Showmax, he revealed that the players’ heads dropped too quickly after conceding goals, a sign he believes cost them dearly in the league.
“I feel like we gave up too quick when it comes to games. As soon as we concede one goal, the heads go down. I think that shouldn’t happen going forward. I think that’s my take on things: we should look forward to going forward, you know,” Ndidi said.
Leicester, Premier League champions in 2016, will now compete in the Championship next season. Despite flashes of promise throughout the campaign, they struggled to maintain momentum when under pressure.
