Renowned Bosnian coach, Wahīd Kḩalīlōzić, emerges as a leading candidate to coach one of the national teams exiting the 2023+1 Africa Cup of Nations prematurely.
In an exclusive statement to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, the Bosnian tactician addressed the speculation surrounding his potential coaching role with a national team.
Kḩalīlōzić revealed, “Firstly, I can confirm that I have received numerous calls recently.
Perhaps around 5 or 6 national teams that exited the current edition of the Africa Cup of Nations have reached out to me, expressing their interest in securing my services.
However, I prefer not to disclose their identities.”
Continuing, he stated, “I cannot provide my stance regarding coaching the Tunisian national team; it is premature.
I understand that Tunisians have an affection for me, but I may not be available to lead their team.
It’s worth noting that several teams in the African continent also hold admiration for me and want me to lead them.
Therefore, I’m uncertain about what the future holds for my career.
For now, I will stick to this statement, and afterward, we will see what unfolds.”
It’s noteworthy that the Tunisian Football Federation has formed an advisory committee, comprising former local football stars, to identify a new coach for the national team.
The committee has not definitively settled its position yet, but according to the same source, it is confirmed that the new coaching staff will be led by a foreign coach.
