West Ham United are preparing a major move for Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri, with Fenerbahçe expected to demand a fee in excess of €40m for the striker.

The 27-year-old forward only joined the Istanbul side last season but has quickly attracted interest from abroad following a strong campaign.

Reports in Turkey suggest West Ham are ready to match Fenerbahçe’s asking price, while the player himself is said to respect the club’s stance on negotiations.

En-Nesyri, who remains under contract with Fenerbahçe until June 2029, is currently valued at €24m by Transfermarkt.

Despite that valuation, the Turkish club is holding firm on its higher demand, insisting they will not consider selling unless the bid surpasses €40m.

Former Morocco international Salaheddine Bassir has encouraged the striker to make the switch to England.

I advise Youssef En-Nesyri to choose the Premier League, Bassir said, stressing that the physicality and intensity of English football would suit the forward’s style of play.

Interest in En-Nesyri is not limited to West Ham.

Saudi Arabian clubs Al Qadsiah and Al Hilal are also monitoring the situation closely, with both sides reportedly keen to lure the Atlas Lion to the Gulf.

However, the Premier League is seen as the most attractive destination for the player at this stage of his career.

En-Nesyri’s current deal in Istanbul earns him an annual salary of €6.67m, underlining Fenerbahçe’s commitment to keeping him as one of their key attacking assets.

But with the transfer window still open, speculation over his future continues to grow.

Faouzi Jamal, another voice in Moroccan football, has urged caution over the next step in En-Nesyri’s career, warning that a poorly timed move could have damaging consequences.

He must make the right decision, Jamal said. A mistake at this level could be irreparable.

The striker’s immediate focus remains with Fenerbahçe, who face Gençlerbirliği in the fourth round of the Turkish Super Lig.

But his long-term future is increasingly uncertain as offers begin to circle.

For West Ham, the potential signing would represent a significant investment and a major boost to their attacking options as they aim to strengthen ahead of the new season.

With both financial and sporting considerations in play, the coming weeks could prove decisive in shaping the next chapter of En-Nesyri’s career.
