West Ham United are prepared to offload Moroccan centre-back Nayef Aguerd this summer, as Italian clubs intensify efforts to secure his services ahead of the new season.
Aguerd, who joined the Hammers in 2022 from Rennes, spent part of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at La Liga side Real Sociedad.
Despite returning to London at the end of the season, his long-term future at the club remains uncertain.
According to reports from Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, AS Roma have made the 28-year-old a key target and are seeking a loan agreement.
However, West Ham are understood to prefer a permanent transfer rather than another temporary move, as they look to reshape their squad under new manager Julen Lopetegui.
Aguerd still has two years remaining on his contract with the Premier League club, which runs through to the summer of 2027, but his place in the side has been under review following an inconsistent run of form and injury concerns during his time at the London Stadium.
Roma are not alone in their pursuit. Juventus have also shown interest in the defender as they attempt to reinforce their backline. With both Serie A giants keen, West Ham could receive competing offers that meet their valuation.
Aguerd has made over 50 appearances for the Hammers and was part of the squad that won the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2023.
Despite flashes of quality, his stint in England has been marked by a lack of consistency, prompting the club to consider cashing in while he retains strong market value.
