West Ham United coach Nuno Espírito Santo

West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo insists his future is not a concern as he concentrates on keeping the club in Premier League survival battle.

The Hammers sit 18th, one point behind Tottenham, with Wolves and Burnley already relegated, and face a daunting assignment against league leaders Arsenal at the London Stadium on Sunday with three matches left.

Nuno was clear that speculation over his future is irrelevant as the club’s immediate fight takes priority.

“I’m going to be honest with you – I don’t have one second to think about next season,” Portuguese coach Nuno said on Friday.

“It’s so demanding what we have, the challenge, especially the game on Sunday, that’s what we have to focus on.

“I don’t have enough energy to think about what’s ahead. It’s tomorrow, then tomorrow, day-by-day.”

Arsenal arrive in strong form after beating Atletico Madrid in midweek to reach the Champions League final and remain five points clear at the top of the Premier League.

“It’s difficult because they are very good,” said Nuno. “They are a very talented team that is fighting for huge things and achieving huge moments.

“They have reached the final of the Champions League and are fighting for the Premier League title.

“They are a tough opponent, but we are at London Stadium and that always gives us a plus of energy and especially for us, we have to give our all.”

He added: “It’s always nervy in these final games of the season. There’s always anxiety in the games so it is up to us to control our nerves and deliver what we want.”

West Ham will be hoping home advantage can inspire a response as they look to take the survival fight to the final day.

West Ham’s situation remains precarious, with results elsewhere also shaping their fate as the season reaches its conclusion and every point now carrying significant weight in the relegation equation.

Arsenal’s recent record against West Ham adds further difficulty, having won heavily on their last two visits to the London Stadium, while their current momentum in both domestic and European competitions underscores the scale of the challenge.
