Wessam Abu Ali, the Palestinian forward of Al-Ahly’s first football team, stated that the team achieved its goal during the match against Young Africans by winning, securing three points, and qualifying for the quarter-finals of the African Champions League, topping Group Four, which is of utmost importance.
Abu Ali added: “We secured qualification in the Champions League before today’s match against Young Africans, but we had another challenge, which was to win and finish the group stage by leading the group.”
The Al-Ahly player pointed out that all the matches played by Al-Ahly are difficult, noting that Al-Ahly’s performance is evolving from one match to another.
He also discussed the upcoming match against Zamalek in the final of the Egypt Cup scheduled for March 8 in Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that it is undoubtedly a derby match, hoping that victory will be on Al-Ahly’s side and that they will clinch their first title with the Red Team.
Abu Ali concluded his remarks by sending a message to the Al-Ahly fans, expressing his confidence in their support for the team in the Egypt Cup final by being present and cheering for them to win the title.
Al-Ahly had secured their place in the quarter-finals of the African Champions League after topping Group Four with 12 points, while Young Africans finished as the group’s runners-up.
