Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has called on fans to keep believing in the team despite their Champions League heartbreak at the hands of Inter Milan.
Yamal, whose roots trace back to Morocco and Equatorial Guinea, was visibly emotional at the final whistle as the Catalan side suffered a dramatic 4-3 defeat in the second leg of their semifinal clash at the San Siro on Wednesday night.
The result saw the Blaugrana eliminated 7-6 on aggregate after a pulsating contest that left the young forward with mixed emotions.
However, in a bid to rally support ahead of their upcoming domestic fixtures, Yamal took to social media this morning to share an optimistic message with Barcelona fans.
“We will not stop until we leave this club where it deserves, at the top,” Yamal wrote.
“I will keep my promise and bring it (Champions League trophy) to Barcelona, we will not stop until we achieve it. But Sunday (against Real Madrid) is another final and we have to be all together.”
The 17-year-old sensation, who has emerged as one of Barca’s brightest prospects, has been a standout performer this season, playing a pivotal role in the club’s continental campaign.
Despite the disappointment of their exit, his statement reflects the determined mindset within the camp as they turn their focus to domestic success.
Barcelona will now aim to regroup and channel their frustration into their La Liga title push, starting with a high-stakes clash against archrivals Real Madrid at the weekend.
A win would serve as both a psychological boost and a crucial step in maintaining their position at the summit of the Spanish top flight.
