Zamalek head coach José Peseiro is rallying his squad for a fierce battle against Al Ahly, acknowledging the challenges his team faces ahead of Tuesday’s high-stakes Egyptian Premier League coronation group showdown.
With Al Ahly leading the table on 39 points, seven ahead of third-placed Zamalek, Peseiro is determined to push his team to its limits despite the demanding schedule.
“Happy with the return of the fans to the stands to support the players, so we have to work and strive to win and make the audience happy,” Peseiro stated at the pre-match press conference.
He noted that Al Ahly has had more time to recover, but Zamalek will adapt as best as possible.
“We are trying to adapt to all circumstances, and therefore I do a recycling between the players to maintain the level of all the elements, and I was hoping to settle the Modern Sport match in the original time instead of resorting to additional time.”
Peseiro emphasized squad rotation and maintaining performance levels while stressing the need to learn from past mistakes.
“We are currently working to correct mistakes, and we will fight to beat Al Ahly,” he added.
With passionate supporters behind them, Zamalek is ready to give everything in the derby.
