The head coach of Morocco’s senior national team, Walid Regragui has indicated that he will be happy if teenage sensation Ayyoub Bouaddi opts to represent the North African country.
As reported by Africasoccer last week, the 17-year-old can represent both Morocco and France at the senior national team level.
This is even though he has been invited to play for France at the U21 national team level.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Morocco’s upcoming games in the World Cup qualifiers, Walid Regragui said although Ayyoub Bouaddi is a player of interest, the country won’t lose sleep over him if he decides to play for France.
“Bouaddi is one of the biggest talents for the future of world football. We want the best players, and he is definitely one of them.
“When a player chooses us, we will be happy. If Bouaddi decides to stay with France, that’s his decision, and we won’t lose sleep over it,” said Walid Regragui.
The Morocco head coach continued, “We are a big team now, and many talented players want to wear the shirt. There will always be tough choices, but that’s the nature of competition.”
