The Vice President of Galatasaray, Ibrahim Hatipoglu, has revealed that the club wants to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal.
The club signed the Super Eagles striker on a season-long deal from Italian club SSC Napoli last summer.
Since arriving in Turkey, Victor Osimhen has been nothing but exceptional, scoring many goals for Galatasaray.
With the fans madly in love with the player, the club is considering a move to sign the striker permanently at the end of the 2024/25 football season.
Recently, the forward also confessed his love for Galatasaray, stating on NTV, “Galatasaray will always be in my heart.”
This has been reported as the player’s intention to leave Galatasaray.
For Vice-President Ibrahim Hatipoglu, this is not true.
“His words don’t mean he’s leaving. He said that even if he left in the worst-case scenario, Galatasaray would always be in his heart. But he didn’t say he’s leaving,” Galatasaray Vice-President Ibrahim Hatipoglu told AS.
In the interview, the club’s top official added that Galatasaray wants to do everything to keep Victor Osimhen at the club.
“We want him to stay with us,” he said.
This season, Osimhen has scored 21 goals for Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig. Thanks to his goals and impressive performances, Galatasaray currently top the league table.
