The head coach of Egypt, Ibrahim Hassan, has noted that his team is determined to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to make the Egyptian people happy.
The coach guided the Pharaohs to a 2-0 win over Ethiopia on Friday night in Round 5 of the qualifiers.
The win means Egypt stays top of the Group A standings of the qualifiers and with a good chance of qualifying for next year’s tournament.
With five more games to be played, coach Ibrahim Hassan wants his players to stay focused and get the job done.
“We have not yet decided our qualification. The dream is getting closer, but football is not reliable. There is no weak team now.
“I would like to thank the players. They did what they were supposed to do, and we missed clear opportunities. We could have won by a goal difference, but thanks be to God for everything. We will return to Egypt and prepare for the Sierra Leone match.
“I hope the fans will release their frustrations and there will be a large crowd in front of Seoul, if you please. We want to qualify for the World Cup and make the Egyptian people happy,” Coach Hassan told “On Sport”.
The game between Egypt and Sierra Leone will be played on Tuesday, March 25.
