Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah praised his team’s unity after scoring in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal, emphasizing collective effort after Moises Caicedo’s red card.
The 26-year-old, of Sierra Leonean heritage, gave Chelsea the lead before Mikel Merino equalised for the visitors.
Chalobah credited teamwork and precise execution for his goal, highlighting a delivery from captain Reece James.
Chelsea demonstrated determination despite the setback, with players competing for every ball and maintaining communication under pressure.
Chalobah highlighted learning from past mistakes as key to the team’s response.
“It was something that we work on every single day,” Chalobah said of his goal.
“It’s all about the execution and timing, and we got that. It was a good delivery from Reece (James), we know how technically good he is, and it worked for us on Sunday.
“He was unbelievable all game. That’s why he’s our captain. Every single day he works and he leads by example. That was a captain’s performance and that’s what we’re going to need from everyone going forward.”
Chalobah also stated: “He just said it’s about togetherness. When we’re a man down we’ve got to be together and show that on the pitch. That is the time we need to stick together.
“The boys did really well, an unbelievable performance a man down – the hard work, the running for each other, the communication, and every single ball we were first to it.
“That’s what it takes in moments like that and we’ve learned from our mistakes. The boys really dug in deep.”
