South Africa coach Hugo Broos has set sights on securing positive results against Lesotho and Benin in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The Bafana Bafana will play host to Lesotho Peter Mokaba Stadium on March 21 before traveling to face Benin on March 25, 2025 in the fifth and sixth rounds of the qualifying series.
South Africa are level on seven points with Rwanda in Group C after four matches into the qualifiers. The team will assemble in Johannesburg on March 17 and camp in Polokwane before the home fixture.
Speaking ahead of the game, the experienced coach acknowledged the qualities of Lesotho and Benin but insists his outfit must deliver better results.
“Lesotho will fight for every meter, and Benin gave us trouble before. The circumstances have changed, but mentality will be key,” he said.
Broos praised the improvements at Peter Mokaba Stadium, ensuring no excuses for poor results.
“The pitch is fantastic, and people did great work. We need to deliver,” he said.
South Africa are aiming to secure qualification to the biggest soccer mundial, having missed out on several occasions.
