Cameroon players led by captain Vincent Aboubakar have called for stability and serenity around the national team.
The squad wants an end to the conflict between FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto’o and head coach Marc Brys.
At a press conference on Monday, the squad showed support to head coach Marc Brys and requested the presence of his assistant on the bench for the upcoming match against Libya.
“We recently completed an important qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) and are continuing our efforts to take Cameroon to the next World Cup. We are fully committed to these missions and, for that, we need stability and serenity around our team.
“Allow the coach who works with us on a daily basis to work with peace of mind, particularly by allowing him to have his assistant,” Vincent Aboubakar said at the press conference.
The match between Cameroon and Libya is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, at the Omnisports stadium in Yaoundé.
A win for Cameroon can propel the Indomitable Lions to the summit of the Group D standings.
