‘We lack Europa League fighting spirit in EPL’ – Morocco’s Noussair Mazraoui waves into Manchester United’s struggles this season

Personal emergency forces Mazraoui off at half-time during Manchester United’s Europa League thriller

Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui has shared his view on why Manchester United have struggled in the English Premier League this season.

According to him, the Red Devils have not been able to compete because they have lacked the same fighting spirit that has fueled their Europa League campaign.

“We have maybe the kind of fighting spirit in the Europa League that we lack in the Premier League.

“I cannot really tell you what the reasons for that are, because that’s something in the mindset that should be there, but many times this season it was not,” Noussair Mazraoui said in an interview.

In the 2024/25 English Premier League season, Manchester United have suffered 18 defeats and sit 16th in the table

Despite the team’s disappointing campaign, the team has qualified for the final of the Europa League and will have the chance to win a silverware if the team is able to overcome Tottenham Hotspur.
