Tottenham Hotspur striker Dominic Solanke has expressed satisfaction after helping his team secure a place in the Europa League final.
Spurs triumphed 2-0 over Bodø/Glimt in the semifinal second leg on Thursday night, completing a 5-1 aggregate victory.
Solanke, who has Nigerian heritage through his father, scored one of the goals in the match, contributing significantly to the team’s success.
Born in Reading, Berkshire, to a Nigerian father and an English mother, the 27-year-old forward has previously expressed pride in his Nigerian roots and a desire to connect more deeply with his heritage.
Reflecting on the match, Solanke acknowledged the challenges faced by the team.
“We knew it was going to be very difficult and Bodø/Glimt started well. We knew we had to be disciplined.”
He also highlighted the importance of the club’s supporters, stating, “The fans are phenomenal – the game at home was the same.
“Hopefully, the fans can make it to Bilbao and we’ll have another special day.”
Solanke’s performance has been instrumental in Tottenham’s European campaign, and he remains focused on the upcoming final.
“There’s one more game to go, and hopefully we can do it,” he said.
The Europa League final is scheduled to take place in Bilbao, where Tottenham will aim to secure the trophy against Man United and cap off their European journey with a victory.
