Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is calling for support for Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana.
The shot-stopper has come under massive criticism this season over poor performances in some games.
Although the former Ajax man has pulled off some impressive saves, his decisions in post have sometimes also cost Manchester United points.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester United’s English Premier League game against Fulham this weekend, Rúben Amorim stressed that the underfire goalkeeper must be supported.
“Onana did some great saves that save our team and sometimes have some problems – but that is normal.
“I think if you look at our team you can find a lot of players with that issue.
“We just have to support Andre, preparing for the future,” Amorim said.
Despite the criticism, Onana continues to have the trust of his manager. The Cameroonian is expected to be in post for Manchester United in the game against Fulham.
