Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has stressed that it is important to give Danish-Nigerian forward Chido Obi-Martin more minutes.
The talented striker has been called to the senior team of Manchester United several times this season following his outstanding exploits with the youth team.
Although he has been training with the senior team after the international break, manager Ruben Amorim has given approval for him to join the U18s for their crucial FA Youth Cup semi-final encounter against Aston Villa U18.
Speaking in an interview, Ruben Amorim said the decision for Chido Obi to play in the game tonight is to ensure he gets some minutes since he does not get enough minutes in the senior team.
“He is going to play today because we try to imagine the next game, and if you look before,e he was on the bench and just played against Fulham, but just 10 minutes at the end of the game, and we have to manage the minutes.
“We have to give minutes to the kid. We are trying to win that competition, to build something with the youth,” Ruben Amorim said.
The FA Youth Cup semi-final clash between Aston Villa and Manchester United will kick off at 6 pm.
