Pyramids FC midfielder Walid El Karti has expressed confidence in his team’s potential, asserting that their ambitious project deserves a spot in the CAF Champions League semi-finals for the first time in the club’s history.
The Egyptian side advanced to the semi-finals after a hard-fought 4-3 aggregate victory over Morocco’s Royal Army in the quarter-finals.
In a television interview, El Karti highlighted the club’s vision and the quality of players eager to claim silverware.
He noted that the second leg against the Moroccan side was particularly challenging, as Pyramids FC managed to limit the damage with a 2-0 defeat, showing a pragmatic approach against a motivated opponent.
El Karti emphasized that the team’s qualification was well-earned and they are determined to continue their journey in the prestigious competition.
He also praised the historic achievement of reaching the semi-finals for the first time.
Pyramids will face the winner of the second leg between Orlando Pirates and Mouloudia Algiers, with the South African team leading 1-0 from the first match.
The second leg is scheduled today at the Orlando Stadium.
