Stellenbosch FC coach Steve Barker has opened up on the club’s transfer plans heading into the summer transfer window.
The club ended the South African Premiership campaign with a goalless draw against Cape Town City FC in the City Derby, and secured a place in next season’s Confederation Cup after finishing third in the competition.
Stellenbosch FC were knocked out in the semi-final round of the recently concluded CAF Confederation Cup after falling short to Tanzanian giants Simba AC, who finished as runners-up.
Heading into the new campaign, Stellenbosch FC are seeking to bolster their squad to make a meaningful impact.
In an interview, Steve Barker emphasized his outfit are strategically strengthening the team for the new campaign.
“We’re strategically strengthening key positions,” Barker stated. “These deals require patience – certain dominoes need to fall before finalizing our moves.”
“We’re evaluating all positions carefully,” he added, suggesting more departures and targeted reinforcements are imminent.
