Morocco U-17 head coach, Nabil Baha, says they have turned their attention to the U-17 World Cup after winning the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Morocco defeated Mali 4-2 on penalty shootouts on Saturday to win the maiden edition of the tournament after a goalless scoreline after regulation time.
“There’s nothing better than starting your coaching career with a continental title with your national team,” Baha told the press after the game.
“I am very grateful to everyone who gave me this opportunity, and I am very happy to repay even a part of what I achieved with Morocco.
“You win the finals, you don’t play, and the pressure was great on the youngsters, yet they endured it and succeeded in presenting a sophisticated image of their maturity, thoughtfulness, and strength of character. How lucky I am to work with this wonderful group.
“Let’s celebrate and experience these historic moments with this team, and I invite you to follow us in the World Cup, as it is our next bet, and I am confident that we will do well in it,” he added.
Morocco will hope to make Africa proud at the U-17 World Cup. The U-17 World Cup, which will feature 48 teams for the first time and will be held from 3 to 27 November 2025 in Qatar.
