Watford bring in Strasbourg defender Soumaila Coulibaly on season-long loan

Soumaila Coulibaly has left Strasbourg to join Watford on loan, with the move including an option for the English club to make his transfer permanent.

The 22-year-old central defender completed the switch during the final stages of the summer transfer window, bringing an end to his time at Strasbourg for the time being. He will now continue his career outside France after agreeing to join the Championship club.

Coulibaly spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Brest, where he gained further experience before returning to Strasbourg. Rather than remain with his parent club, the former Parisian has taken up a new challenge in England with Watford.
